Representation

I’m the first person in my immediate family to have an interest in international affairs, a passion for traveling or a passport. Despite my family’s lack of international experience, they have emotionally and financially supported me in every one of my dreams. Through my experiences at the University of Florida, I have been able to broaden my family’s global perspective through my stories. I’ve convinced my grandmother that Africa is not a country, persuaded my father to understand Islam is a religion of peace and inspired a love for the world in my younger sisters.

This is a reflection of my global experiences at the University of Florida and their impact on my life and loved ones.

ABOUT ME

My name is Morgan Cook and I'm an Economics and International Studies double major at the University of Florida. Through the International Scholars program, my interest in international affairs has developed into a passion for the world. My passion for the world and academics has inspired me to one day pursue a PhD in International Relations or Anthropology. My research interests include Muslim regions of sub-Saharan Africa, women’s roles in development and global health.

This Eportfolio showcases my experiences as an International Scholars student at the University of Florida.
